Monica holds an Associate of Arts degree in Social Sciences from Harrisburg Area Community College. In 2014, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Millersville University, graduating cum laude. Monica furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Social Work degree in 2016, graduating with honors and a perfect 4.0 GPA from a dual college program at Shippensburg and Millersville Universities. Her academic excellence earned her induction into the Theta Alpha Phi Alpha Honor Society.

She shares her life with her spouse, Juanika Ballard, and together they are proud parents to twins, adding to their family of five children from previous relationships.
